Privacy Prototype

Critlet is built with privacy in mind. This page states only what this prototype actually does today — it is the conservative, honest version, and anything not built yet is labelled as such.

What stays in your browser (today)

There is no account server in this prototype. Your Critdle results, collection, and prototype preferences are stored only in this browser's local storage:

Critdle game data — daily/sample results, discovered Relics, counts, flight history (critdle-*-v2 keys).
Earlier prototype data — the retired beta system's keys (critlet:critdle:*), kept separate and untouched by the current game.
Prototype preferences — theme (critlet-theme), notification toggles, sample profile name/colour, favorite Relics (critlet-settings-v1, critlet-profile-v1, critlet-favorite-relics-v1).

Clearing your browser data removes all of it. It is not synced between devices.

Sample identity

The display name, profile code, and member-since date in this prototype are sample identity stored locally. Magic-link sign-in is not real yet: no email is collected, hashed, or sent anywhere by this prototype.

Sponsorships

We have sponsorships: clearly labelled sponsored content (the word “Sponsored” plus a sample/house label). In this prototype every slot is a house placeholder, no sponsor exists, and no sponsor tracking, pixels, or third-party advertising cookies are run. Sponsors never choose, rank, or edit coverage.

What we don't collect (today)

No account or email collection — there is no sign-in server yet.
No third-party cookies, no advertising trackers, no data selling.
No browsing history beyond the sample content you view on this site.

Your rights & controls

Settings: notification categories, theme, name/colour, and favorite Relics are editable in Settings.
Deletion: the Settings deletion flow is currently a labelled simulation that resets demo preference keys to sample defaults; it does not destroy real data because no real account data exists yet. A real deletion path ships with real accounts, or not at all.
Portability: your roll history and Relics are visible in your profile and the Critdle Vault tab.

Open question (flagged, not invented): exactly what a future account system would collect (email handling, session security, retention) is undecided. This page will be rewritten before any real sign-in launches — nothing here should be read as a promise about that future system.
